Setting Traps

A character with this skill is able to set mechanical traps.  This must be chosen from a list of possible triggers and effects.  To set a trap, the character must pay the energy cost of the trigger and the effect combined as well as he must have the necessary components.  For a trap to work there must be a real-life representation of the Trigger to notify any person who may happen upon it that a trap has been sent off.  Only 3 different effects may be placed on a single Trap.  The list is as follows:

Triggers:

  • Pressure Plate – 4 Energy per 1’x1’ square, Materials: 2 Units of any physical material (wood, metal, etc…)

  • Switch – 6 Energy, Material:  1 Unit of Wire and 1 Unit of Material

  • Tripwire – 2 Energy per straight line of wire, Material: 1 Unit of Wire

Effects:

  • Snare Limb – 6 Energy per 5 Minutes Triggers: Pressure Plate or Tripwire, Materials: 2 Units of Metal Material, Note* This trap affects the closest limb, or the limb that sets off the trap.  This requires a total Strength of 4 to break out before the duration’s end.

  • Strike/Damage – 1 Energy per 2 Damage (to a maximum of 20 Damage).  Triggers: Any, Materials: 2 Units of Material

  • Stun – 5 Energy, Triggers: Any, Materials: 2 Units of Material, Note* The stun effect lasts for 10 seconds.
