Sprite

The Sprites are a whimsical race born from seeds scattered across Panthes by Isabella. When Rhone and Vellon were competing for control of Panthes, Isabella took advantage of the untouched hills and plains and danced between the two, scattering seeds wherever she could. Her goal was to make a beautiful world for her unborn son, Adam. Some of the seeds took root and became great trees and forests, while others came to life as the Sprites.

                                            

Physical Description

Sprites vary as greatly in their appearance as trees do.  Their skin color varies from pale to dark and their green hair is intermixed with leaves and blossoms, depending on the time of year. As the world is born again in spring, the Sprites produce blossoms, seeds, and flowers. The seeds fall from their hair and scatter wherever they walk, becoming trees or more Sprites.  They shed their leaves in the fall as the foliage around them dies, and then lose their leaves completely during the winter.

 

 

Culture

Sprites are born from seeds. They have no “Mother” or “Father” as is tradition amongst the other mortal races. Once they are born, they wander the forests, either choosing to live alone among the animals, or searching for small settlements of other Sprites.  This causes many Sprites to become shifters.

 

As a Sprite ages, they become more and more attuned with the forest until they eventually stop moving and grow into trees.  Sometimes, if the need is great, these trees commune with the Sprites, imparting great wisdom or beneficial advice.

 

Sprites have a natural born fear of fire. They are distrustful of Embers as fire harms them more than others.

Description: During creation the character chooses one of the following wood types:

 

  • Oak: +2 Body

  • Duskwood: Increase the maximum number of attuned items by 1

  • Ironwood: +4 Natural Armor

Skill Name:  Regeneration
Description: The character recovers 1 point of Body every 5 minutes. This has no effect in the Death Count or during an Encounter. If a character has a Broken Limb it recovers at the beginning of the next period after it was broken.  If the character has a Severed Limb, it regrows and is fully functioning at the beginning of the next event.

Purchasable Racial Skills:
Poison Immunity 4 Build: A Sprite with this skill becomes Immune to all Poisons.

Thorns 4 Build: A Sprite with this skill can sacrifice 2 Body to gain +1 Damage on all weapon strikes. Duration: Encounter. Non-Stackable.

 

  • Effect: Physical

  • Range: Personal

 

Treant Form 8 Build, 10 Energy: A Sprite with this skill may gain Medium Claws (24”) that deal 3 Damage (total), +10 Natural Armor, +1 Strength, and +2 Soak.  For the duration of this skill, the Sprite must move at a walking pace.  Duration: Encounter. Non-Stackable.

Racial Detriments: 
Fire Vulnerability: Sprites take x2 Damage from Fire.


Nature’s Unease: Sprites may not wear metal armor.


Costuming Requirements: Green hair, eyebrows, and facial hair.  Hair spray/dye/wig must be used. Earth-toned clothing.
